Roccaraso-Rivisondoli Ski Resort

Located in the heart of the Altopiani Maggiori d’Abruzzo, between the Parco Nazionale d’Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise and the Parco Nazionale della Maiella, the ski resort of Roccaraso and Rivisondoli, already popular in the early 20th century, are the most renowned and well-equipped in the Apennines, with over 100 kilometres of modern, interconnected ski slopes served by cable cars, chairlifts, and surface lifts.

Here, the slopes cater to every level, from beginners to seasoned skiers, and also offer opportunities for snowboarding, cross-country skiing, ski touring, alpine skiing, and snowshoeing. For the more adventurous, activities such as dog sledding add a unique touch to a winter holiday.

Nestled in a stunning natural setting, Roccaraso boasts a state-of-the-art ski area that includes Aremogna, Pizzalto, and Monte Pratello. With 28 modern lifts, including two cable cars, and approximately 100 km of perfectly groomed pistes maintained by an advanced snow-making system, it is the perfect destination for skiers of all abilities. The highlight is the ten-seater Pininfarina cable car, which takes you to the spectacular Rossa-Le Aquile piste in Aremogna.

Just minutes from the town centre, the Coppo dell’Orso area is ideal for family fun on the snow. Here, conveyor belts, snow tubing, sledges, and toboggans provide endless entertainment for both children and adults.

Overlooking the Altopiano delle Cinquemiglia, Rivisondoli completes the offering with a ski area that reaches 2,056 metres at Monte Pratello. Its cable cars, chairlifts, and surface lifts serve 48 km of pistes, making it a charming destination, also famous for the evocative living nativity scene held every 5 January.
